Andina's Page
Welcome to my personal page
Overview
I have wanted for some time to have a place where I can share ideas, learning, information and understanding from time to time. I
hope that this page may help people abused in childhood to feel both
heard and seen, and also provide greater clarity to a wider audience as
to the 'here and now' problems which our civilization is currently
facing and which actually have their roots hidden deeply in the
un-addressed childhood trauma, resulting from even 'normal' parenting, that exists on a global scale.
This page also gives me a chance to let you know what is developing here @ The Project.

As I write articles for this page I notice that the theme at the moment is that of exploring why it is that survivors of childhood abuse have such a really hard time getting what happened to them, and it's repercussion, actually recognised?
Why does Society in general refuse to look at what it has allowed to happen to it's most vulnerable members? Why is it so very hard for someone terribly traumatised to even get a look in? Why is it apparently OK that hundreds of thousands of adults in the UK are left to suffer lives of great pain and isolation?
I don't have the full answers - to me it simply seems a form of madness itself that this is happening - but I think do have some of the pieces of the puzzle.

The Vanity Of Adulthood
One
key concept in Society's denial of the reality of widespread childhood trauma is that children are actually viewed as having their sole purpose as that of producing adults, rather than the reality that childhood is a sufficiency in itself.

What's Up Doc?
GP's
and Psychiatrists are failing to diagnose thousands of adults in the UK
who have been severely traumatised in their childhood - and so
condemning them to lives of extreme misery, isolation and possible self
harm.

Blaming The Survivor
Why do survivors of severe childhood abuse have such a hard time getting what happened to them recognised, and it's repercussions?
One part of the equation may be found in a fascinating series of experiments from the USA.
