What's Happening At The Project?
After over a three decades of experience and research the work and resources available at the Project are coming to be seen as leading the way in a new, and much more effective, way to address the terrible legacy of childhood trauma.

Collaborations
NACAB, the National Association of people Abused in Childhood, is expanding it's base and is in the process of setting up the first nationwide series of support groups specifically for people recovering from childhood trauma. The co-ordinators of these groups, Sarah and Dawn, visited the Project in September on a fact finding mission as the recovery groups held here have been running continuously for over 10 years and have proved very popular, very safe and very effective.

The NHS Maudsley Hospital in London has a Traumatic Stress Clinic
and in September one of the senior Psychiatrists, Dr Roseanne Varley, also visited the Project and was extremely impressed with the full nature of recovery resources available here.
Participants at the project consistently report horrendous experiences at the hands of the NHS's psychiatric clinics, and so far the Traumatic Stress Clinic is the only clinic where participants report having a positive and useful experience and it appears to be the only one where the links between childhood trauma and adult mental health issues are not only clearly identified but also taken very seriously. Dr Varley herself runs a 10 month group for women survivors of sexual abuse.

It is likely that both NACAB and Dr Varley with be working more closely together with the Project in the near future.
